Basic Duties

  • Compile and review bid documents
  • Create a detailed scope of work
  • Solicit supplier and subcontractor quotes (minimum of 3 quotes required for each scope)

  • Works with Operations Manager and Project Manager to provide support for all project related management.

Open Positions

  • Rough Grade Dozer Operator (Mass Earthwork Crew)
    • Must be proficient with operating 200-359 HP class dozers (Cat D6T – D8T) with semi u blades.
    • Must understand the difference between mass production earth moving and fine grading.
    • Must be proficient in slot dozing (Cut-to-Fill under 200’).
    • Must have experience in push loading conventional motor scrapers.
    • Must be proficient in using a rear mounted single or multi shank ripper for rock excavation.
    • Must understand the fundamentals of efficient dozer operation.
    • Must be able to perform daily machine inspections and report any faults.
    • Must be willing to clean cabs, clean tracks, and grease machine after every shift.
    • Must be able to resist the urge to operate the dozer at high speed in reverse. (If you don’t get this statement and if you don’t understand how to get maximum life out of undercarriage, please do not apply.)
  • Fine Grade Dozer Operators (Fine Grade Crew)
    • Must be proficient with operating 85-200 HP class dozers (Cat D4K-Cat D6N) with 6-way VPAT blades.
    • Must be proficient with Topcon 3dMc GPS machine control.
    • Must be able to read and interpret grade stakes.
    • Must be able to fine grade soil subgrade, and stone base in congested multi-trade work areas.
    • Must understand the fundamentals of efficient dozer operation.
    • Must be able to perform daily machine inspections and report any faults.
    • Must be willing to clean cabs, clean tracks, and grease machine after every shift.
    • Must be able to resist the urge to operate the dozer at high speed in reverse. (If you don’t understand this statement or don’t know how to maximize undercarriage life, please do not apply.
  • Motor Scraper Operators (Mass Earthwork Crew)
    • Must be proficient with operating Caterpillar 621 open bowl motor scrapers
    • Must be have experience with being push loaded.
    • Must be able to read and interpret grade stakes.
    • Must understand the fundamentals of efficient scraper operation.
    • Must be able to perform daily machine inspections and report any faults.
    • Must be willing to clean cabs and grease machine after every shift.
    • Must be able to effectively load the scraper bowl without spinning tires or disconnecting from push blade before fully loaded.
  • Hydraulic Excavator Operators (Pipe Crew)
    • Must be proficient with operating hydraulic excavators in trenching and pipe installation applications.
    • Must be able to safely excavate trench to OSHA standards.
    • Must be able to dig trench on grade for gravity sewer and storm drain lines.
    • Must be proficient in rigging and lifting for laying pipe, setting manholes and drainage structures.
    • Must understand basic backfilling and compaction principals.
    • Must understand the fundamentals of excavator operation in trenching and pipe laying applications.
    • Must be able to perform daily machine inspections and report any faults.
    • Must be willing to clean cabs, clean tracks, and grease machine after every shift.
  • Wheel Loader Operators (Pipe Crew)
    • Must be proficient with operating wheel loaders in pipe installation applications.
    • Must be able to safely load, secure, lift and maneuver materials to OSHA standards.
    • Must be able to use the correct lifting devices to safely lift, move, and lower materials used in utility construction.
    • Must be proficient in rigging and lifting for laying pipe, setting manholes and drainage structures.
    • Must understand basic backfilling and compaction principals.
    • Must understand the fundamentals of wheel loader operation in utility construction applications.
    • Must be able to perform daily machine inspections and report any faults.
    • Must be willing to clean cabs, and grease machine after every shift.
  • Articulating Dump Truck Operators (Mass Earthwork Crew)
    • Must be proficient with operating articulating dump trucks in mass cut-to-fill operation.
    • Must be able to safely and efficiently maneuver/dump truck on uneven terrain.
    • Must be proficient in haul road right of way rules.
    • Must be able to perform daily machine inspections and report any faults.
    • Must be willing to clean cabs and grease machine after every shift.
  • Roller Operator (Mass Earthwork and Fine Grade Crew)
    • Must be proficient with operating articulating dump trucks in mass cut-to-fill operation.
    • Must be able to safely and efficiently maneuver/dump truck on uneven terrain.
    • Must be proficient in haul road right of way rules.
    • Must be able to perform daily machine inspections and report any faults.
    • Must be willing to clean cabs and grease machine after every shift.

Responsibilities

  • Be punctual and dependable.

  • Perform daily equipment inspection and report any faults to foreman.
  • Responsible for overall condition of assigned machine.
  • Be a team player and work well with fellow crew members.
  • Do not abuse or misuse any equipment.
  • Report damage immediately.
  • Responsible for quality control of assigned work.
  • Always strive to learn something new.

Duties

  • Safely and efficiently operate machine to maximize production.
  • Be aware of surroundings and always pay attention to crew members working around your machine.
  • Report any safety concerns to foreman.
  • Arrive at work before designated start time.
  • Assist with labor task as required. (For Example to locate existing utilities or move something out of the way)

Requirements

  • Must be a legal citizen of the United States of America.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from the assigned job-site.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an operator.
  • Must have a fundamental understanding of heavy equipment operation. (There is a pre-employment knowledge test)
  • Must be able to speak English and communicate effectively with other crew members and superiors.
  • Must be able to work hours required to effectively support the assigned task.

Preferred Education/Certifications/Training

  • OSHA 10 Hour Certification
  • Rigging Certification
  • Confined Space Certification
  • First Aid/CPR Training
  • Competent Person Certificate for Trench Excavation/Shoring
